Mac App Store to get Jailbreak Treatment? Cydia coming up?

Now it already seems weird to an extent that a relatively open system like a Desktop/Notebook (Mac) is getting an App Store. While IMO this would certainly help Apple structure softwares for Mac, generate interest amongst developers and boost the ecosystem. What place does this have for a Cydia on Mac? Is Apple too restrictive about apps on Mac? Or its just that the hype of Mac App Store can be used to sell some more apps via a 3rd part solution and cash in some $$?

Well as it seems Cydia on the Mac platform isn’t a reaction to the App Store by Apple, but its more targeted towards modifying the Mac OS to allow a lot of things that won’t come in officially. Be it changing the intervals of Time Machine autocheck or a modified iTunes to make your jailbreaked life easier on the iPhone?

“Just like you can make all these modifications on the iPhone, you can make these same modifications on the desktop,” Freeman told Ars, “Until now, there has never been a way to easily install modifications to the system or third-party applications, as well as keep them updated.” – OS News

Whatever the case may be, we are certain that it would be much easier to get Cydia working on Mac compared to the iOS!
